The year was 1995 and the tune was “Incredible” by General Levy. Jason Bos had been bitten by the jungle bug and his future would be forever changed. Having been an avid music lover for years, listening to anything from classic rock to jazz, these new intricate break-beats and heavy basslines with reggae-inspired vocals sounded fresh to his ears. He became a regular to the Syrous/Dose/Destiny parties and was lucky to experience some of the true warehouse venues. With a background in music theory and some years of organ lessons, his early work consisted of jamming on the SH 1000 while a PSP kept beat. Music was recorded on video format and documented on youtube. He continued to purchase new hardware and became an advocate of “analog sounds better” joining the ranks at “Vintage synth.com” Looking towards the greats of hip hop such as Pete Rock and Dr. Dre, the crunchy MPC became the heart of his rig. The Moog Voyager soon followed. As the collection grew so did his knowledge of production. In 2008 Jason purchased a Mac and the studio was born. As he polished his sound, DJ’s began playing his early “dubs” at local gigs and on radio shows. Determined to make a name as a producer and to get his tunes heard, the label was created. |

"I remember the feeling when the DJ put a massive tune on and was forced to take it from the top. I said to myself, I need to do that.”“I wanted to put out quality tunes that people would dance to. The time was right.”“I remember the feeling when the DJ put a massive tune on and was forced to take it from the top. I said to myself, I need to do that.”After buying the “Highly Recommended” triple pack from Formation Records back in ’95, he was hooked on vinyl. Over the years he would accumulate a vast selection of 12’s spanning all sub-genres of drum n bass. “There’s nothing quite like going to the local record shop picking out some new 12’s and playing them out that night. It’s an experience that can be shared with others. I’m changing the way people feel one tune at a time.” |
